I specifically remember being four years old and deciding that my life began at four, and I made a conscious effort to keep this truth in my head that my life began as a statue of a four-year-old boy that came to life. So my earliest memory is a completely made-up one.
My actual earliest memory? Being in the car with a mouth full of bacon, chewing. My mom asking me what I had in my mouth (breakfast had been over for a while, and she was unaware that I smuggled food out into the car by keeping it unswallowed in my mouth), and me responding by just opening my mouth to show her the glob of food that was in there.
